Summary: CD-rom includes 170 visual scenes with animations, 8 videos, 4 comic strips, 7 puppet theatres, 8 games, 120 informative texts, 114 library texts that one can print out, 54 text bubbles, speech, music of the period and sound effects. All text are in five languages: in English, Finnish, Swedish, Estonian and Russian.
Intentions: The Main target group is 10-13 years old school children in the participating countries. Other target groups are teachers, other school youngsters, students, museum visitors and professionals, general public and families. The cd-rom is realized in five languages: English, Finnish, Swedish, Estonian and Russian. The evaluation of the project and cd-rom is going on and the report will be publish during this spring (2004).

Comments: The cd-rom is the result of the shared museum education program called "the Baltic Connections" between the city museums of Helsinki, Stockholm and Tallinn and the State Museum of the History of St Petersburg. The main objective was to examine the common history of the four participating cities around the Baltic Sea from four different viewpoints and to give people today tools to understand their neighbours better and to facilitate social interaction when encountering different cultures. One important aim of the cd-rom -project was to develop interactivity between museums and schools.
The museum educators worked together with teachers and school youngsters around the theme of the cd-rom. Children studied history and produced their own Eric Sederholm story and material for the cd-rom like drawings, videos, puppets and cartoons strips. Also young multimedia students have been carrying out the cd-rom with Fakiirimedia. They have for instance planned and carried out all the games.
